Ole Miss redshirt junior defensive end Breeland Speaks will enter the 2018 NFL Draft, the school announced Tuesday.
Speaks made 67 tackles this season, second on the team, with seven sacks. He earned second-team All-SEC honors.
Ole Miss learned early this month that the NCAA is imposing a second year of a bowl ban, extending to the 2018 season.
“I have seen Breeland grow as a person and a player over the last four years, and we’re excited to see him take this next step in his career,” Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke said in a statement. “I am particularly proud of the leadership he brought to our team amidst the challenges we faced. He is a true Rebel, and we look forward to watching him continue our program’s rich NFL tradition.”
Speaks rose as a prospect this season in the ratings by NFLDraftScout.com, which has him ranked as the 14th-best junior defensive end,
